Water Conservation PSA

Conservation & Transportation

This set of posters was created for a thesis project revolving around gain and loss perspective when it comes to conservation of water. As a designer this was a fascinating challenge, due to the fact that one stipulation for the project was that the posters needed to look exactly the same- however, naturally, they would both still need to accurately communicate the message. Through photo manipulation, the two posters depict water either, planting or revealing a forest of lush trees or water being sucked away, thus “vanishing” the trees. This effect was achieved through photo manipulation and double exposure techniques.

These posters are intended to be released as part of an outdoor print campaign, with a focus on placements in urban centers where consumers may not have much interaction with nature and are thus aloof when it comes to issues such as water conservation. In this way this important message would reach a new demographic.
